USS Liberty

(on June 8, 1967)

We shall never forget
The atrocious act
and we’ll honor our bravest,
Purposely attacked:
The closest ally
went on a murderous spree,
Slaying our sailors
from the USS Liberty!
The horror broke in 1967
when Israel shot
the Egyptian POWs;
The sailors witnessed,
Allies opened fire,
determined to sink
The American ship.
Today we honor
the sailors we lost
and the ones who survived
the dangerous course.
Thirty four people
were brutally murdered
173 wounded
lived to tell tales.
We shall never forget it,
till Judgment Day!
Why truth was silenced
by Commander McCain?
