Your eyes were shiny – like two lakes
where sun rose slowly and swiftly set.
Your silky voice and gorgeous face
Will never leave your fast soulmates!
You left us much too soon, Valdis,
Sad angels cry with anger.
You concurred cancer for five years
and never lost your sense of humor.
You have so many caring friends,
Loved you deeply for who you were.
You fought the beast courageosly
When learned it was returned;
It tamed your life without warming.
Why you, Valdis – sweetheart?
What have you done for anyone?
You never caused minds burning.
We'll meet again in another life
No matter how, but it's imminent!
